Evergreen Summer Adventures, a summer day camp open to the public, has spots open for rising 4th-9th graders. Limited spaces are still available for grades K-3 as well. Each week, kids choose a morning enrichment class, get time on the climbing wall and ropes course, and go on a waterfall hike! Questions? Contact james.wilson@evergreenccs.org.

Looking for some extra help this summer? Evergreen is now enrolling students in Orton-Gillingham Summer Tutoring with flexible scheduling. Contact Carrie Pusey, Director of EverLearning, at 828-298-2173 x1301to sign up.

Haw Creek Elementary Welcomes Summer

It’s hard to believe that another school year is wrapping up at Haw Creek Elementary School! It’s been a great year for learning and growing.

Our Destination Imagination team won the regional contest again this year and earned a place at the global competition that took place in Kansas City, MO. Destination Imagination is a year long activity that stresses teamwork, creativity and problem solving. It’s a great experience and the team members really enjoyed meeting other teams from all over the world.

Another highlight was our PTA Penny Drive, a fund raiser that encourages everyone to raid their piggy banks. This year we were able to raise enough money to get a new climbing wall for our gymnasium.

We are looking forward to a great summer of playing in the neighborhood and going to the pool. Hope all our neighbors enjoy the warmer weather too!
