A Food Truck Finale – Bun Intended, Saturday 29 May
May 29 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Haw Creek Community Association’s organization and sponsorship of weekly food truck events is coming to an end, with Thai food served by BUN INTENDED this Saturday, May 29 2021.
Started in the spring of 2020 as an antidote for pandemic isolation, the food trucks filled a void and helped us stay connected as a community. It turned into a successful year-long run, with our community steadily showing up in large numbers to support these local food vendors struggling through a tough economic year. It’s been a win-win all around
Life is slowly returning to normal, and food trucks are getting back to busy schedules. The Haw Creek Commons parking lot is needed again for their own events and programs. And with restaurants re-opened, we are back to lots of eating-out-choices, including Creekside Taphouse and Rendezvous right in our neighborhood.
The Association’s thanks go to the Haw Creek Commons for offering the use of their parking lot;
to the truck owners and their staff who worked super hard to prepare and serve so many good meals every week; and to all of you who came out to “meet and eat.”
The food truck scheduling, coordination, and overall promotion was ably led by board member Renate Rikkers, who knew nothing about the world of food trucks a year ago but volunteered to make it happen, and we thank her for her contribution of commitment, time and effort.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
